| The Newport Harbor Yacht Club
and Newport Harbor High School are
searching for a full time Junior Sailing
Director and High School sailing coach.
The junior sailing program consists of
150 sailors age 8-18. The program runs
year round with weekend sailing September
through June and an eleven week summer
seesion June through August. The High
School Sailing Team holds weekly practice
October through May and travels to all
PCISA and national regattas. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hire and manage a staff
of 12-14 summer instructors and 3-5 off
season coaches. Plan, develop and
implement instructional programs for all
ability levels year round. Coach on the
water at selected regattas and clinics.
Prepare monthly mailings that promote
junior activities to the Membership.
Prepare junior sailors for local,
regional and national eventsn by planning
practices, clinics and organizing trips.
Write an edit Non-Calm
section of monthly Club magazine.
Actively participate on all SOuthern
California youth sailing organizations.
Organize and coach Newport Harbor High
School Sailing Team practices and
regattas (January-May)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants should
possess the following: 4 year B.S. or
B.A. degree. US Sailing Level 1 and Level
2 Certification. At least 2 years
experience coaching and one year
administrating a youth sailing program.
Competitive junior and college sailing
background.
SALARY: Competitive
yearly salary reviewed annualy. Benefits
(medical, dental, 401k) after 90 day
probationary period.
