11/28/98 Head Instructor, Stamford Yacht Club, CT
Stamford Yacht Club, Stamford, Connecticut, is looking for a Head Instructor for the new and improved Junior Sailing Program. Our summer sailing program runs approximately 8-10 weeks for juniors ages 7-18. We will have 6 full time instructors assigned to the various levels.

JOB TITLE: Head Instructor, Junior Sailing Program

SUPERVISORS: Club Manager, Fleet Captain and Junior Sailing Committee Chairman.

GOALS: To raise the level of our Junior Sailing Program in all aspects of sailing: safety, seamanship, basic maintenance, rules-of-the-road, racing, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage the program and manage the instructors. 2. Develop, set and follow curriculum for various levels. 3. Oversee club boats, equipment and routine maintenance.

SKILLS REQUIRED: 1. Excellent interpersonal skills, the position has a lot of interaction with parents, instructors and the kids. 2. Strong organizational skills. 3. Excellent ability to teach and work with beginners as well as experienced competitive sailors. 4. Extensive experience in handling and racing sailboats. 5. US Sailing Level II and CPR/First Aid preferred
