PCISA hosted the ISSA Baker Team Racing National Championships in Redwood City, CA co-hosted by the Peninsula Youth Sailing Foundation and the Sequoia Yacht Club. Many thanks to the numerous volunteers who helped to make this a great event especially Eric Anderson, Regatta Chairman; Jen Lancaster, PRO; Don Becker, Chief Umpire; Scott Mason and numerous other students, parents, umpires and club members from PYSF and SYC. And also a HUGE thank you to the Stanford University Sailing Team and Coach John Vandemoer for loaning their fleet of CFJ¡¯s to the regatta. With 24 boats and matched color coded sails we ran over 100 - 3on3 umpired team races in two days for 12 teams. The regatta format was fully completed within the time limits in breezes that often exceeded 15 knots on cool waters around 58 degrees. Although racing was close throughout, Newport Harbor edged out Point Loma to win their second Spring National Title of 2009.
